Well, the votes have been tallied up and while we didn’t come away with the title of Best Home Store in the DC Metro Area, it was still a great feeling being nominated.

Congratulations are in order for some other MidCity neighbors who did win in our category:

  • Current Boutique – Best Consignment Store
  • Universal Gear – 3rd Best Mens Clothing Store
  • Pulp – Best Gift Shop
  • Logan Hardware – Best Local Hardware Store
  • Miss Pixie’s – Best Vintage Store
  • Home Rule – 2nd Best Home Store

Congratulations all of you! Way to remind people to shop local :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It looks like Vastu has made past the nominating period and into the voting round of making it onto Washington Post’s Express Best of 2012 list and for that we thank you.

If you’d like to see Vastu named Best Home Store of 2012 then head to the Best of 2012 Voting Page and vote for us in Home Store under the Shopping section!

Vote for Vastu!

It takes just a few seconds and you can even vote for several other small and local, independently-owned businesses in other categories (like Pulp for Best Gift Shop, for example).

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the great relationships we’ve built with you, our customers, over the many years we’ve been here on 14th Street, so we thank you again for your votes!

Thank you Express!

A very big thank you to the team over at the Washington Post Express (especially you Beth!) for including us in the ‘Hot, Functional Focal Points: Fireplaces Made Chic’ story that ran on January 28th.

The piece not only features our amazing clients, but you can even get a peek inside the home of Vastu owner, Jason Claire.  To read the story, click here.  If you missed last Friday’s edition of the Express, click here to check it out.
