Thanks Capitol File!
Our Summer 2010 issue of Capitol File came in the mail and guess what?! We’re in it! Vastu is one of seven places listed as destinations for modern decor in the mag’s second annual “guide to the good life in Greater Washington”. A big thank you to Capitol File for including us. We’re happy to see a few of the folks from our block made the guide as well – congrats to Bar Pilar, Pulp and Home Rule!

Places to go | Folks to know – DC
If you’re in The District and you haven’t made it over to Cork Market yet, you should definitely go…. now! Just kidding… but, you should try them soon. We don’t love them just because they’re on our block, but because everything is delicious and the staff is very knowledgeable about wine. For eats – try their organic gummy pandas, espresso brownie and turkey BLTA sandwich. For drinks – well their specialty is wine, so ask for suggestions of what to try from the Cork Market team.

NYC Restaurant Week!

Going on now and running through July 31st (Saturday’s excluded, Sunday participation optional), Manhattan restaurants are offering some fabulous deals for patrons. Restaurant week started during the 1992 Democratic National Convention. Tim Zagat and others organized the event to get convention participants to sample the best eats the city had to offer. Each participating restaurant signed up to offer a prix-fixe lunch menu. The program was opened to the public and due to the program’s popularity the event grew to offer a prix-fixe dinner option as well.
