Always on the forefront of lighting design, Flos is continuously producing new and exciting designs by well-known designers. The Tatou family of decorative lighting is no different.

Vastu's Showroom Model - Tatou S in Bronze

Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the Tatou family draws “inspiration from an antique Samurai (″warrior″ in Japanese) armor and takes its name from the french word for ′armadillo′. The design represents resistance and strength along with lightness and dynamism.”

The Tatou series includes the following designs:

UPDATE: Tatou is currently available for pre-order from Vastu. Tatou is now available to order and as of this morning, we have learned that Vastu is the only retailer in the DC Metro Area with a showroom model! So come check it out.

Originally designed in 1946, the molded plywood chair established a long and successful relationship between Herman Miller and Charles & Ray Eames. With the formation and release of the Herman Miller Collection last year, Herman Miller has taken an elegant classic and updated it for 2013.

We’ve received some brand new things for the Vastu showroom in the past week and we think you’re going to like them!

First up is the Risom Amoeba Table from Knoll in Light Walnut.

Next we have the new Henry Storage Ottoman from Gus* Modern. Available in black or white leather, the ottoman features a soft-closing lid and enough room for blankets, throw pillows or anything else you’d like to hide away.

New to the Showroom: Tres & Lexington

October 27, 2011 · Posted in Vastu News · Comment

Today was a fun day for deliveries! We just received two new pieces for the floor.

The first is the Tres Night Table from the Tres line we wrote about back in August. It looks awesome! Totally slick and streamlined, but with some noticeable substance to it. We especially love the thin drawer handles.

The second piece we unpacked for you all to come and see is the Lexington End Table.

Made of polished stainless steel and a polished/coated glass top, this great side table looks and feels glamorous.

This Just In: Hot N’ Cold Glasses

July 8, 2011 · Posted in Interior design trends · Comment

We just received a shipment of our Hot N’ Cold glasses by Erik Bagger (thanks UPS)!

Each 10.5 ounce glass is nestled in a rubber sleeve and comes in 5 great colors: blue, purple, pink, lime green and black.

They’re stackable, dishwasher safe and can be used for hot or cold drinks.

The Hot N’ Cold glasses come in sets of four, but you can always mix and match if you don’t feel like getting them all in one color, and after careful consideration decided to keep them in their individual color sets. You could, however, buy two sets of different colors and still mix them up!

Come stop by and check them out today!
