Always on the forefront of lighting design, Flos is continuously producing new and exciting designs by well-known designers. The Tatou family of decorative lighting is no different.
Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the Tatou family draws “inspiration from an antique Samurai (″warrior″ in Japanese) armor and takes its name from the french word for ′armadillo′. The design represents resistance and strength along with lightness and dynamism.”
The Tatou series includes the following designs:
Tatou is currently available for pre-order from Vastu. Tatou is now available to order and as of this morning, we have learned that Vastu is the only retailer in the DC Metro Area with a showroom model! So come check it out.
Originally designed in 1946, the molded plywood chair established a long and successful relationship between Herman Miller and Charles & Ray Eames. With the formation and release of the Herman Miller Collection last year, Herman Miller has taken an elegant classic and updated it for 2013.
The most notable addition to the molded plywood chairs is seen in the upholstered seat and back option. With 6 different wood veneers, 3 leg options and 22 fabric and leather options, this chair is available in over 5000 configurations!
Our showroom floor model is an upholstered Lounge Chair with wood legs. The frame and legs are walnut and the seat and back is upholstered in Divina Melange ’931′.
We’re not sure what the C, T or R stand for in CTR Table but we do know this table is Beautiful with a capital “B”.
Made from reclaimed teak and a solid metal base, the CTR Table comes in 3 sizes:
- 59″L x 35″W x 30″H
- 86″L x 39″W x 30″H
- 98″L x 39″W x 30″H
Our floor model is the 86″ with the Natural finish and the Brown-Black base.
Finishes for the top include Natural, Oiled, Lacquered, Mist and Ebony. (Mist and Ebony both come with an upcharge)
The CTR Table is rustic while remaining elegant, feels sturdy without being overwhelming and would make a great addition to anybody’s dining room that had the space for it. The CTR Table starts at $2,185.
Hey everyone! If you happen to be in the city over the weekend (and on Labor Day)and are looking for something to do, why not visit the Vastu showroom?
We’ll be open on Monday, September 3rd at 11:00Am.
Enjoy the holiday weekend!
Over the weekend we received the Harper Chair, a brand new style of side chair from Steven Anthony, and we absolutely love it!
We’ve received some brand new things for the Vastu showroom in the past week and we think you’re going to like them!
First up is the Risom Amoeba Table from Knoll in Light Walnut.
Next we have the new Henry Storage Ottoman from Gus* Modern. Available in black or white leather, the ottoman features a soft-closing lid and enough room for blankets, throw pillows or anything else you’d like to hide away.
Also from Gus* Modern is the Ossington Coffee Table. How great is that lower shelf? Perfect for stashing your TV remote.
Today was a fun day for deliveries! We just received two new pieces for the floor.
The first is the Tres Night Table from the Tres line we wrote about back in August. It looks awesome! Totally slick and streamlined, but with some noticeable substance to it. We especially love the thin drawer handles.
The second piece we unpacked for you all to come and see is the Lexington End Table.
Made of polished stainless steel and a polished/coated glass top, this great side table looks and feels glamorous.
In time for the Dog Days weekend, we have various floor models that have been priced to move! Take a look below.
Was: $6,019 – Now: $4,500

Back in June we gave you a sneak peek at the amazing Sayl chair designed by Yves Behar. Well our showroom floor model has arrived and we love it! Extremely comfortable, the Sayl can be adjusted to fit your body and sitting style with fully adjustable arms, seat height and tilt stop control.
Come by Vastu and give it a spin!
We just received a shipment of our Hot N’ Cold glasses by Erik Bagger (thanks UPS)!
Each 10.5 ounce glass is nestled in a rubber sleeve and comes in 5 great colors: blue, purple, pink, lime green and black.
They’re stackable, dishwasher safe and can be used for hot or cold drinks.
The Hot N’ Cold glasses come in sets of four, but you can always mix and match if you don’t feel like getting them all in one color, and after careful consideration decided to keep them in their individual color sets. You could, however, buy two sets of different colors and still mix them up!
Come stop by and check them out today!
