Yesterday we posted tips on how to mix old and new home furnishing pieces.  If you’re in the NYC area and in search of those “old” pieces, our NY-based interior designer, Krissy Stecyk, suggests giving the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market a try.

The flea market it located on West 39th Street between 9th & 10th Avenues and it’s open 9 AM – 6 PM every Saturday and Sunday.  Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market includes vendors that offer shoppers antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, mid-century modern items, and more. The market’s Hell’s Kitchen South location is near the Port Authority Bus Terminal and Times Square.

If you’re ever in the 14th Street, NW area, be sure to stop by clothing boutique Rue 14.  The shop, located above Pulp, offers men’s and women’s fashion from up-and-coming designers.

Locally-born owner Jiwon Paik-Nguyen and her husband, Andrew Nguyen, moved back to DC after 15 years in NYC to fulfill their dream of opening their own clothing boutique. Jiwon and Andrew hope to steer away from the offerings of large chain stores and offer customers an experience of shopping at a SoHo boutique by bringing in more diverse brands without the NYC price tags.
