Dorothy Cosonas, KnollTextiles and Knoll Luxe creative director, recently designed 3 new fabrics for the Knoll Luxe 2011 collection that were inspired by current fashion trends: Arabella, Grammercy, and Vermeer. Arabella and Gramercy are both large-scale velvet upholstery fabrics while Vermeer is more like a classic Knoll knubby-textured fabric.
The colors are great, and as upholstery fabrics they’re a fabulous way to bring the fashion industry into your home and onto your Knoll pieces.

‘P’ is for Platner
Sculptural, transitional, iconic – that is the Platner side table. Designed by Warren Platner in 1966, the Platner side table is part of the Knoll portfolio of products. The top is available in a number of glass, marble and wood options, and the base is available in polished nickel or metallic bronze.

Considered a very important design movement, mid-century modern furniture re-emerged as a coveted design aesthetic about 10 years ago and has continued to gain popularity over the years. The clean lines and organic shapes characteristic of items designed during this era work incredibly well with more modern furnishings.
