The Great Outdoors: The Cantilever Collection

With the weather warming up it’s time to start thinking about heading outdoors. Give your outdoor space an updated look with pieces from Emu’s new Cantilever collection. Designers of this collection, Alessandro Andreucci and Christian Hoisl, combined Emu’s manufacturing tradition with the company’s tradition of experimenting with design. The collaboration resulted in the Cantilever armchair, low armchair, chaise and dining table.

Designer spotlight: Patricia Urquiola

Born in Spain in 1961, Patricia Urquiola has become very well known over the years for her amazing designs.  Urquiola graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Madrid in 1989. Between 1990 and 1992, Patricia was an assistant lecturer at the Politecnico di Milano university and at the E.N.S.C.I. in Paris. From 1990 to 1996, she worked for the new product development office of De Padova and with Vico Magistretti.

The Great Outdoors: The Ivy Collection

Last week we blogged about Emu’s new Heaven collection.  Today we’d like to share another new introduction from Emu - the Ivy Collection.  Designed by Paola Navone, this collection is inspired by the art of topiary.  The goal was to create “furniture sculptures”, light and minimal, that expose the versatility of metal.  

The collection is complete with a sofa, chair and tables- each available in white, orange, light blue or turquoise.
