Washington Fine Properties Home & Design Weekend
We’re excited to be a part of Washington Fine Properties Home & Design Weekend! It’s a great time to come in and check out the newest additions to our showroom floor. New Neighbors: District Condos
District Condos, a new residential and retail development by JBG/Grosvenor.
We’re very excited about the new District Condos project right across the street from us. Last night, the folks from JBG held a neighborhood meeting at Cork Market‘s tasting room to brief nearby residents and businesses about the construction progress . The meeting was run by Vastu friend and client James Nozar who is managing the project. While the timeline is definitely aggressive, there is no doubt that everyone involved is doing all they can to minimize any negative impact to neighbors and commuters during construction. We can’t wait to see some cranes! The project is set to be completed by Summer 2012.
Midcity Holly Days!

MidCity Dog Days Sale: Aug 7 – 8
The 11th Annual Dog Days of August event is only a week away!
Businesses in the 14th Street/U Street Corridor neighborhood will be hosting the popular end-of-summer sales event Saturday, August 7th and Sunday, August 8th. Be sure to come to our neck of the woods this weekend of August to enjoy special events, sales, restaurant deals, and family fun throughout MidCity. $500 or Less art exhibition
Beginning tomorrow, Vastu presents four of its current artists and two new artists for its first ever “$500 or Less” exhibition offering photography, wall sculpture, painting and mixed-media. We are excited to offer original artwork at affordable prices. The show includes works from Kristina Bilonick, DeMarquis Johnson, Colin Winterbottom, Rose Minetti, Gabriel J. We’re lucky to share our block of 14th Street with the great folks over at the Source Theater. They stopped in to let us know about their upcoming event, so of course we had to share with you! June 12 – July 3, the Source Theater will be having their Source Festival – 18 10 minute plays, 4 artistic blind dates and 3 full-length plays. Tickets are just $18 and can be purchased online here or over the phone at 855.811.4111.

Downtown Dwelling
Vastu co-owner and interior designer, Eric Kole, assisted his client in creating a warm, comfortable, modern place to call home in downtown DC – and he wasn’t afraid to use a little color! The floor-to-ceiling windows really made the bold color choices pop, making the rooms vibrant and inviting.
