The Modern DIY Art Shelf
While checking email and catching up on the blogs I follow I found this great post on HGTV’s blog on How to Build A Modern Art Shelf. I love DIY projects, and this one looked especially easy. When I scrolled down to the final picture below, however, something just seemed off to me.

So I posed a question to the design team here at Vastu: “Is this shelf too high to really display art? Or is the height appropriate for the kinds of pieces the blogger chose to put up?”

Off the wall: Other ways to use wallpaper
While wallpaper has made a huge comeback on many wall surfaces around the world, there are some things to do with wallpaper other than apply it directly to a wall. Have some leftover wallpaper from a project or just looking for a few fun DIY project ideas? Well, here you go…
- Consider buying a roll (or two) of a wallpaper that has a great pattern (or use leftovers) and frame it. It makes gorgeous hanging art! Below you’ll see that a Vastu designer did this in the model unit at luxury apartment rental building, View 14, in DC.
