“Hello designers… Please settle something for me. My husband and I are putting the final touches on our new home, including hanging some new art we’ve acquired. We can’t seem to agree on the height. My husband insists on hanging it what I consider it to be too high and (of course) he thinks my suggestions make the art look too low. Are there guidelines for art hanging? I know you have art on display in your showroom all the time so I thought you’d have some suggestions. Thanks!”

More on Brian Petro’s work…
Above is a photo Brian Petro shared with us – it’s his New York City studio about mid-way through the construction/creation of the pieces in the series presently hanging in Vastu. To see these pieces in person, just stop by the showroom during store hours. These works will be up through mid-April.

“Hello! So… I just bought a one bedroom condo and I’m super excited about it. I’m pretty confident about what I want to do in all the rooms except for the formal dining room. The room is pretty large, long and narrow with a chandelier mounted in the center of the room. With only one bedroom, I’d actually like the formal dining room to serve as a place to eat AND my home office. Any ideas on the type of furniture I should look for that will make the room look cohesive, but still serve two purposes? Thanks!”
Come out and Play
The company behind some of our favorite cabinets and credenzas has introduced a new line called ‘Play’. The collection includes media pieces, sideboards, dressers, night tables and beds that incorporate “playful” angles and finishes. These pieces can be done in a gorgeous exotic wood species like macassar ebony or a fun lacquer. Here’s a look at some of the items from Play…

Etsy find: Jason Hill Design
We stumbled across the Jason Hill Design Etsy shop and just had to stop when we saw these screen prints of two Knoll mid-century modern classics – the Tulip chair and the Bertoia diamond chair. Great size, great colors, great gift!
