A Happy Holiday Hiatus

We’ll be taking a break from blogging for a couple weeks, but we’ll be back to our old tricks at the beginning of the New Year.  (Can you believe it’ll be 2010?!?!)

Tote bags made out of Knoll textiles!  Asymptote bags features the ‘Aficianado’ bag, which is the shop’s signature size bag (14″ H x 15″ W), and the ‘Curator’ tote which is the largest bag available.

New art exhibit!

Colin Winterbottom returns to Vastu to exhibit recent work and favorites. Featured among the dramatic, atmospheric photographs he shows are a series taken as he documented refurbishment of the pediments at the National Archives headquarters in Washington, DC. Other photographs feature New York, Washington DC, and recent studies of smaller towns in between.

“Hi!  So I saw on all my favorite design blogs that turquoise is the color for 2010.  I was thinking this may make a good wall color for my twins’ bedroom – a boy and a girl.  I figured it might be good because it looks good with pinks (for my daughter’s side of the room) and greens (for my son’s side).  Are there any good turquoise paint colors out there or would you suggest another color that is fairly gender neutral?”

Generation by Knoll now available at Vastu!

The Generation chair from Knoll (designed by Formway Design) was a huge hit at NeoCon 2009, a popular furniture industry trade exposition, and is now available for purchase at Vastu.  In Knoll’s own words, the Generation chair is “not a chair, it’s a movement”.
