Bringing the outside in pt. 4: moss

August 25, 2009 · Posted in Home decor
If you don’t exactly have a green thumb, a moss plant could be the perfect answer to bring a little of the outside in. Though moss is typically a plant that thrives in damp, dark places, designers have been using moss in their design schemes to infuse life into rooms. As long as the moss is kept out of the window and moistened every once and a while, it can thrive in almost any space. Another popular approach is to dry the moss and no maintenance is required at all.

Check out this post from Martha Stewart.  She suggests going to your local florist and purchasing cushion moss.  The cushion moss can then take the form of whatever you’d like it to.  She recommends using a wire mesh to shape a surface for the moss to grow.

So, what do you think about moss as an indoor decor element?
