Hello – I need some advice. I love Victorian style sofas and I’m currently searching for one (similar to the one I sent) with great lines on sites like Craigslist to refinish. What sort of side chair and cocktail table should I look for that will work with the sofa without making the room look like an antique collection?
Thanks!
What do you think?

First thing is to avoid incorporating too many pieces with the same antique characteristics, such as fancy wood carvings and cabriole legs. Then, you might want to consider introducing brushed or polished metal into the space through a cocktail or side table to break up some of the wood finishes in the room. Mixing wood furnishings with other finishes like metal and glass gives the space a little more character and makes it feel more modern.
Ideally, I would like to see a sofa like the one you have pictured in the photograph with a round (glass) cocktail table with an interesting metal base. Also, a small, armless upholstered side chair with a fabulous fabric should act as a great accent piece in the room. I hope this was helpful and good luck in your search for the sofa that you’re looking for!
