Hello – When I moved into my apartment, I wanted the living area to be very bright and bold. While I still love the wall color, I’m rethinking the black and red accent colors. I have thoroughly enjoyed the bold, eclectic look, but I’d like to try to make the space more serene. What color furnishings and accents would you suggest if I keep my wall the same?

I think if he or she paired the bright yellow walls with white and cool greys, it will create a calmer more serene look.

Tu che Madison! The yellow is a very bold color in this space, so instead of competing against it with other bold colors introduce more subtle shades and highlights such as whites and grays to compliment such a vibrant hue. I would also suggest you play around with some textures and patterns that are a little more calming in order to achieve the overall look that you’re going for. Good Luck!
